Sports Field Team Lead

Position Summary:
The Sports Field Team Lead is responsible for overseeing their crew and, when needed, working independently to ensure the successful completion of athletic field projects. This role includes managing time and material records, coordinating products, equipment, and personnel, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with MSCʼs standards.

Has Reporting to: Assistant Team Lead, Crew Members

Primary Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Conduct on-site walk-throughs for pre-, ongoing, and post-work evaluations.
- Communicate field crew needs to the Operations Lead so that they have the information, tools, equipment, products, and people to complete projects on time, on budget, and to the MSC standards.
- Coordinate equipment with the Operations Lead to meet the project demands across their projects.
- Proactively identify ways to improve processes and work more effectively and efficiently.
- Continuously improves knowledge, skills, and expertise in operations management.
Safety
- Implement safety program at job sites.
- Identify safety needs, including program, processes, and training,
- Maintain safety training.
- Ensure compliance with safety laws and regulations.
Leadership Expectations
- Work collaboratively and positively with all MSC stakeholders

- Provide constructive feedback to Senior Management, Sales Managers, and Team Members.

Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year turf program as a minimum; a 4-year turf degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a grounds crew
- Strong attention to details to complete projects on time, on budget and to MSC standards.
- Strong communications skills to work in a fast paced, dynamic and diverse work environment.
- Positive and professional attitude
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and effectively and creatively solve problems.
- Strong time management and self-management skills.
- Understand and maintain the confidential nature of the company, employee, and customer information.
- Current driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Frequently communicate with employees, managers, and other individuals with key relationships.
- Frequently bends, lifts, and maneuvers to be able to fix large pieces of equipment.
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds regularly.
