Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Assistant Superintendent to play a key leadership role in the daily management and future development of the golf course. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who is team-oriented, detail-driven, and committed to high-level agronomic and playing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of course maintenance and agronomic operations
• Supervise, train, and lead a talented and diverse maintenance team
• Maintain and manage irrigation systems and participate in scheduling and efficiency improvements
• Scout and diagnose turf stress, pests, and disease pressure
• Oversee and participate in fertilizer and pesticide applications including calibration, documentation, and regulatory compliance
• Assist with budgeting, material planning, project execution, and equipment management
• Promote safety, professionalism, and continuous learning among the team
• Help uphold course playability priorities and conditioning standards that enhance the golfer experience

Qualifications:

• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field
• 3 – 5 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience
• South Carolina Pesticide License (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• Strong knowledge of warm-season turf management, particularly Bermuda grass
• Working knowledge of irrigation operation and troubleshooting
• Proven leadership, communication, and crew management skills
• Passion for the game of golf and an understanding of how course conditions affect play
