Golf Course Superintendent Southern Wayne CC

– Oversee and maintain turf and playing conditions to the highest level possible by direction of staff scheduling, landscape management, chemical applications, irrigation management, and special cultural practices.

– Supervise , coordinate, train, and schedule daily assignments and projects conducted by the golf course staff.

– Maintain certification in pesticide application by the appropriate regulatory agency. Apply fertilizer and chemicals to the golf course as conditions dictate i.e. fertilizers, applications, top dressing and aerification.

– Monitor all financial responsibilities including but not limited to daily expenditures, inventory control, purchasing , monthly and quarterly budgeting, and the yearly budgeting process.

– Oversee golf course equipment maintenance, inventory, and purchasing programs.

– Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. – Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

– Must possess basic computational ability.

– Knowledge of computer programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis. – Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when necessary.

– Knowledge of Golf Operations

– Must attend the Monthly Board Meeting

Posses or have ability to obtain within 90 days

– North Carolina restricted use pesticide commercial applicators license
