Pelham Country Club is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our agronomy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow within the turf management profession and contribute to maintaining a world-class golf course.
About the Role
As an Assistant Superintendent, you will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and two fellow Assistants to oversee daily course operations.
Responsibilities include:

Carrying out the full scope of professional assistant superintendent duties

Leading and supporting a team in daily course care and conditioning

Ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards

Contributing to long-term agronomic planning and project execution

Our location on a dynamic, urban site ensures constant opportunities for growth, learning, and innovation in turf management.
- A two- or four-year college degree in Agronomy or a related field, or substantial on-the-job training with a track record of progressive responsibilities.
- A New York State pesticide license, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.
- Minimum of 5 years of golf course maintenance experience, with a proven track record of progressive job responsibilities.
About Pelham Country Club
Pelham is a high-end private, 18-hole full-service country club on 120 acres very near New York City. This premier property designed by course architect Devereux Emmet opened in 1921. The par 72, 18-hole championship golf course hosted the 1923 PGA Championship and recently completed a 5 hole renovation by golf course architect Mike DeVries.
