Equipment Manager (Full-time)
Overview
French Creek Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf course designed by Gil Hanse, located in
Chester County, PA. The club hosts approximately 20,000 rounds per year. The Equipment
Manager oversees preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of all turf and
maintenance equipment (excluding the electric cart fleet) to support optimal course
conditions. Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and may supervise junior staff or
trainees. Weekend hours may be required during club events.

Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance on all maintenance and turf equipment (diesel,
gas, electric, handheld, and specialty equipment), excluding the electric cart fleet.
• Diagnose, repair, and service equipment; coordinate with OEM technicians as
needed.
• Grind reels and bed knives; ensure proper reel-to-bedknife alignment and cutting
quality; backlap and adjust as required.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections; report issues to the Golf Course
Superintendent and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventive maintenance, parts inventory, and
usage (Task Tracker or approved system).
• Train and mentor new hires and equipment operators as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and comply with OSHA safety standards; promote
safe work practices.
• Stay current with evolving equipment technology; pursue ongoing education as
offered.
• May perform other golf course maintenance tasks and be available on weekends
during club events.
• Other duties as assigned.
Equipment
• Core brands: John Deere and Toro; other manufacturers present.
• Foley Accu-Pro reel grinder and bedknife grinder.
Qualifications Required
• 3+ years of experience in turf/equipment maintenance (golf course experience
preferred)
• Proficiency with diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs of diesel, gas,
and electric equipment
• Computer literacy for ordering, record-keeping, and sourcing parts
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to read service manuals and schematics
Preferred
• Experience with John Deere and Toro equipment; reel and bedknife grinding
• Certifications (ASE, EPA 608 for refrigerants if applicable, turf equipment tech certs)
• Supervisory or training experience
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions; ability to lift heavy parts and operate in
a shop environment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
• Willingness to work weekends or extended hours during Club events
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience
• Paid Time Off; golfing privileges; meals provided
