Position: Field Operations Coordinator
Department: Field Operations
Reports to: Director of Field Operations

The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have an immediate opening for Field Operations Crew Member. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the playing surface at The Diamond and other areas of stadium operations. Major Responsibilities:

Maintenance of the playing surface at The Diamond and the future site of CarMax Park. There may be requirements in other areas of stadium operations with this position.
Assist field crew with any gameday preparations including lining, dragging and watering the field, packing mounds and plate, monitoring weather, and overseeing gameday employees.
Assist field crew with VCU gamedays and extra events as directed.
Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling and oversight of hourly gameday and associate employees.
Experience in operating field equipment including mowers, tractors, blowers, utility carts, infield drag machines, etc is required.
Maintain cleanliness of machines and shop areas.

Qualifications:

Highly motivated, positive individual with the ability to work well with others in stressful situations
Ability to work varying hours including nights, weekends, and summer holidays
Attention to detail
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
Routine exposure to inclement weather, including rain, extreme heat, fog, etc.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Small machine maintenance experience preferred
Turfgrass degree or certificate or ability to obtain preferred
Certified Pesticide and Fertilizer Licenses or ability to obtain preferred
