Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our agronomy team. This position will work closely under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent to oversee daily maintenance and long-term conditioning of the golf course. This position plays a key role in delivering championship-level playing conditions and offers an experience unlike any other for the members. The ideal candidate is a motivated turf professional with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence in golf course management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising daily golf course maintenance operations
- Prep course for daily play, tournaments, other scheduled events
- Train, supervise, and motivate maintenance staff; assist with employee evaluations and safety programs
- Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Apply fertilizer, chemicals, and pesticides in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain turf health and assist in implementing agronomic programs.
- Maintain equipment and ensure safe work practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operation of golf course equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time
Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred
- 2+ years of golf course maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferred
- Current PA Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
