Summary: Manages the golf course by supervising and coordinating activities of employees engaged in preserving the grounds and turf of the golf course in good playing condition by performing the following duties. Also responsible for the overseeing of building and grounds maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Determines the work priorities and assigns employees to specific tasks such as fertilizing, irrigating, seeding, mowing, raking and spraying.
Maintains a restricted use pesticide license.
Develops methods for control of noxious weeds and insect pests.
Mixes and prepares recommended spray and dust solutions.
Directs and assists employees engaged in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment including mowers, carts and other equipment owned or leased by the resort.
Trains employees under his or her supervision and assists workers to perform more critical tasks.
Mowing from marquee and throughout Lodge area, Golf Shop area, Motels and Fairway House.
Maintain shrubbery and flower beds including spraying and mulching.
Help to maintain parking lots cleanliness.
Providing “On Call” back-up personnel on a rotating schedule for weekends for swimming pool maintenance and other issues that may arise.
Monitors and maintains payroll, expense and pesticide records to ensure that the department stays within budget assigned  by the Board of Directors.
Confers with General Manager and Golf Shop Manager in planning and supporting golf tournaments and special events.

Must be creative, self-starter and capable of working independently. Available to work a flexible work week to include some evenings and weekends. Ability to write clear, concise reports, memoranda and letters. Must have excellent oral communication skills and be able to communicate with golf customers, motel guests, and employees. Restrictive use pesticide license is required. Occasional exertion of force of approximately 20 lbs. but not to exceed 50 lbs. Work requires speaking, hearing, sitting, and using finger, handle or feel. Position requires walking, standing and other repetitive motions.
