Horticulture Intern | Summer 2025

Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) is offering an exciting Horticulture Internship opportunity for two (2) students enrolled in a horticulture program. This summer internship (May – August 2025) provides hands-on experience working alongside our expert Horticulture team to maintain and enhance the breathtaking 42-acre sculpture garden.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Interns will gain valuable, real-world experience in horticultural practices, including:

Watering and caring for plants
Weeding and general landscape maintenance
Greenhouse and nursery upkeep
Assisting with irrigation repairs
Planting trees, shrubs, and flowers
Vine and lawn maintenance
Fertilizer application
Propagating plants through seed, separation, cuttings, and pruning
Supporting special projects and other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a horticulture program
A strong interest in horticulture and plant care
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Effective communication skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and engage in bending, lifting, and physical work for extended periods
A reliable and conscientious approach to responsibilities

 

Compensation:

Hourly rate: $15.49
