Raemelton Farm is EXPANDING We need an energetic Nursery Associate We are looking for a person interested in taking their career to the management level at a cutting-edge wholesale production nursery. Education or experience in horticulture, farming, or a related field is important. If you’ve got ‘green’ experience and you’re ready to take on a more challenging role this is the job for you! This position will include all aspects of nursery operations. Think Swiss Army Knife. Specific duties include (but are certainly not limited to): • Supporting sales and marketing staff with inventory management, farm tours, and order processing; • Assist with marketing strategy and execution (conventional, social, and guerilla); • Planting thousands and thousands of trees; • Supporting our Integrated Pest and Weed Management programs; • Operating a range of farm equipment — tractors, loaders, specialty machines; • Participate in on-farm research and trials; • Support personnel management, farm planning, and • Assist with development of some of the most innovative progressive sustainable nursery production techniques anywhere…seriously. This is a management-track position, with opportunity for advancement. We need someone who can juggle multiple projects, manage complex tasks, work with field crews, prioritize & organize a blizzard of “To Do” lists, and effectively function when the situation goes completely off the tracks with little warning. This position is NOT a desk job. You will be expected to join in the full spectrum of field operations. You’ll need physical strength and endurance. The job requires the ability to repeatedly lift objects of 50 lbs. Farm operations run year-round, so work outside in very hot, very cold, very wet, very windy, very muddy, and very dusty conditions should be expected. Raemelton makes use of a wide range of information technologies. We need someone who is comfortable with Microsoft Office software, networked desktop and mobile devices, and can learn to use new software and hardware.
