Summary Statement
Essential Functions
- Schedules, assigns and reviews the work of full time and seasonal range staff.
- Ensures the safety of range participants.
- Designs and maintains challenging and complex target courses.
- Ensures efficient maintenance of grounds, buildings and equipment.
- Ensures correct accounting for receipts, disbursements and supply inventories.
- Participates in budget preparation and long-term planning for range development.
- Plans and schedules shooting activities and coordinates long-term scheduling of range use.
- Establishes curriculum and conducts training for full time staff and seasonal range officers.
- Recommends, implements and enforces policies and range rules pertaining to public use.
Job Requirements
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- One year experience in operating a shooting range such as skeet, trap, clay archery or target.
- One year experience in maintaining and repairing shooting range equipment such as skeet, trap, clay, archery or target.
- One year experience in firearms use, care and safety.
- One year experience in inventory control such as ordering, receiving, tracking, storing and handling inventory; disbursing materials, supplies and equipment.
- One year experience in staff supervision which includes planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others.
