Position Summary: The Senior Assistant Superintendent supports the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of golf course maintenance and operations. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to grow their career in turfgrass management while contributing to the high standards of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in daily golf course maintenance operations, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management
· Supervise and train maintenance staff to ensure efficient and safe work practices
· Help manage and maintain irrigation systems, including troubleshooting and repairs
· Monitor course conditions and assist in planning agronomic programs
· Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
· Participate in budgeting, recordkeeping, and inventory management
· Assist with special projects and course improvements as needed
· Ability to every other weekend
Qualifications:
· Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred
· Minimum of 3years, Previous experience on a golf course maintenance team required
· Knowledge of golf rules and golf course etiquette preferred
· Knowledge of turfgrass practices, irrigation systems, and equipment operation
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
· Valid driver’s license
Compensation & Benefits:
· Salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
